Red Wilkos Planner Review & Giveaway! [ CLOSED WINNER ANNOUNCED ]

When I saw these popping up on the Facebook groups recently, I knew I wanted to get my hands on some and see just how good they really are. If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen I bought this Red one and also a Pink one. I will be doing a separate review on the pink one as it's a totally different style.
The planner itself (including inserts) costs £6 and you can find them in Wilkos.
This particular style of planner comes in a blue colour as well.

(Inside left & right sides)

Inside is covered in a light brown material, personally I'm not a massive fan of this lining.
On the left there is some vertical pockets and a slot to put a photo. There is not big pockets and the back has no pockets, but there is a pen loop which is set higher up than usual which I actually prefer. I find that I can use any of my thinner pens that have a clip at the top, this way they will stay in there without falling out.

(Weekly inserts & Address inserts)

I didn't think the layout of the weekly inserts were all that bad. I actually prefer them to the Filofax ones as they are less cluttered. The actual paper isn't white, it's more of a cream colour which is something I'm not really that fond of. I'm definitely a white paper kinda girl! I feel like they can definitely be jazzed up a bit though, they are very simple but everything you need is there.
The address inserts are pretty generic. I never use my planner to store addresses and phone numbers in, so I wouldn't use these.

(Notes inserts & To-do list inserts)

These inserts I could definitely use, they are nice and simple. Note paper is note paper, you can't really go wrong with that. The to-do paper again, is to-do paper. They both do what they say on the tin! The paper quality I'd say is standard, it's nothing special but considering it costs £6 for the planner and the inserts, I wasn't expecting anything spectacular. I did find that where the holes were punched they had kind of stuck the pages together? So you have to be careful when you are first flicking through it.

(top: rings, bottom: cover marks)

The rings were decent, I really wasn't expecting Filofax standards from them. I did look through all the planners that were on the shelf and none of them had perfect rings. They all had at least one ring that had a teeny gap. Of course I chose the one with the best rings haha.
The cover of the planner is very soft, and it has a matt finish. This means that it does show up marks easily. As you can see in the above photo the marks are visible in certain lighting. Particularly in my studio lighting, but it's definitely not as noticeable at a glance, it's only when you really tilt it at a particular angle.
At the end of the day it was either, choose one with a small mark on the front and the best rings out of the lot, or choose one with barely any marks, but multiple dodgy rings. I went with the good rings!

(All prizes you could win!)

I bought this out of pure curiosity, and because I of course have plenty of planners, and as much as I'd love to keep it for my collection, (my boyfriend might just go loop-de-loo at me if I did!) I'm going to be giving it away, along with a couple of other goodies which just went with the planner quite nicely!

If you would like to enter then please do so through the Rafflecopter below!
