#listersgottalist April Summary!

As I'm sure a lot of you are aware, I took part in the #listersgottalist April journaling challenge.
I knew from the start I wouldn't keep up, some days I barely have enough time to eat, let alone sit down and do some creative journaling every single day! BUT, that wasn't enough of a reason to put me off doing it.
I got behind on day 15 I think? But I was chuffed I made it that far.
I thought I'd share how I went about doing the challenge and also how I plan on doing May! (Yes I know it's already started, but hey! I'm taking this at my pace.)

When it came to decorating the front, I went all out crazy with stickers, washi tape and die cuts! I started with a theme but got carried away, it was extremely therapeutic and I love how it turned out! For the inside decoration I focused on layering. Seeing as I'm used to layering with my Smash Books, it was the most natural thing for me to do. I used a lot of journaling cards throughout, they helped to break up the page without adding a ton of bulk, and it also mean I was still able to write over them.

When it got to the point where I was slacking behind with the challenge, I would break it up into smaller tasks. So I would spend an evening decorating future pages, theming them if they were about something specific (I would use film strip washitape on the pages which were about my favourite films etc. ). Then I would go back in and stamp out the prompts and stick those in. Then lastly I would of course list out my answers. I do this with a lot of things in my day to day life, I definitely find I work better and I'm less stressed when I 'chunk' things out!

During the month of April a lot of new dies I bought, arrived! So I had a ton of new shapes that I could cut out and use in my projects. I really enjoyed having more elements to work with on a page. It also meant I could colour co-ordinate a lot better, because I could chose any papers or card to cut the shapes out of, instead of sticking with bought die cuts. My favourite ones to use have to be the page flag shapes (Above, under the number), I got a few different sized dies of this shape. I know that I will definitely get my moneys worth with them!

At the moment, I still have pages 26 - 30 to decorate, and pages 19 - 30 to fill in. It did turn out a lot more time consuming than I first thought, mainly it was the fact that I'd chosen to stamp out the question, instead of using Cori's ready to print prompts! So for May I will most definitely be using those.

As far as how I'm going to go about completing May, I will be doing it in the same style. The insert I'm using has the perfect amount of pages so I can just flip it and start May from the back (but it won't be going backwards, because I flipped it, does that make sense? haha). So I will have April & May all in one insert. Which I'm SUPER excited to see it completely filled!
I'm still going to stamp out the numbers for each page, as they weren't all that time consuming, and I love the way they look.
I hope you enjoyed having a peak into my April #listersgottalist insert! I will be doing a full flip through on my YouTube channel once I have completed the month.

Let me know if you have any questions, I always try to answer them the best I can for you!

Have a lovely day!

  1. Hi Daisy! Having been following your youtube channel for some time, your colour matching and layout are always interesting and so perfect. I joined the challenge with both months in one insert too. Nice to see your work in another platform here!

    1. Heya! Thank you so much! I love putting a page together and figuring out what works and what doesn't. I've not yet filled one of my fauxdori inserts, so I'm excited to have a finished one! :) X
