Smash Book Sunday! | 6 |

So, this is a Smash Book page none of you have ever seen before!
Why? Because my camera decided to completely fail on me when I was putting it together. Unlike like a show & tell sort of video, I can't just re-record it! :(
But thanks to my blog, I still get to share it with you, because I'm actually really happy with how it turned out!
It may or may not have something to do with all the fun Yellows on the page ...

I managed to Smash Book a lot of things that I've had sitting around for a while. It's always a good feeling when that happens, like you've finally found that bit of ribbon a forever home in your Smash Book haha.
There's a big mixture of things on this page, none of them really relate to each other at all. I received them all at different times, and they've just been sitting in my Smash box, waiting for me to use them.

♥ The wooden 'Daisy' was sent to me from a penpal.
♥ 'Happy Mail' sticker was from my Happy Mail Brimbles Box.
♥ Cloud washi tape is from Cloudy Cow.

This wooden 'Daisy' was something I've struggled to find a place for, mainly because it's obviously bulky. I also felt like I might want to use it somewhere else, and had the mindset of 'what if' I need it for something else in the future?! When in actual fact, unless I'm going to make friends with someone else called Daisy, and send them a gift with this attached to it. It's highly unlike I will ever use this elsewhere. Plus it was sent to me from a penpal, so I wouldn't actually want to send it to my hypothetical friend called Daisy, ahah!

It was tricky trying to figure out a way to stick all of these bigger things down, without it looking like just a couple of bigger things stuck on a page.
I find that using washi tape and smaller things to stick on top really help with this. I tend to treat the bigger things as the background, and then when I'm arranging the smaller things on top, I try not to cover the bits of the background that I like the look of. It's always best to use bigger things on a page that you already aren't keen on, and don't mind covering up almost fully.

♥ Scratch card I received for my birthday from my Aunty.
♥ Gold foil 'hello', from the websters pages colour crush packaging.
♥ Newspaper bat cut out, from a swapbot swap.
♥ Heart 'roll sticker' packaging, from some stickers I bought.
♥ Brown & Yellow gemstones, from Hobbycraft.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this Smash Book page, even though I don't have the process video to go with it. Sometimes these things happen!

Have a lovely Sunday!

Smash Book Sunday! | 4 |

This page felt very nostalgic to create (kinda goes well with this being the Nostalgia Smash Book!), I have multiple smash boxes, one of them has a ton of stuff I kept from my school & college days. I haven't been through this box because I know it's going to dig up memories and I don't know if they will be happy for sad, so I tend to just avoid them in general.
I did eventually go through it though, and found some real gems.

♥ The circle photo at the bottom is of me and one of my friends, it was from a leaflet for a sheep centre in Sussex.

This box was full of doodles I had done, I don't remember a day at school or college where I didn't doodle something. I know I can't keep them all, but I'm going to try and Smash Book as many as I can.
♥ Instead of cutting this one out neatly, I chose to rip around it and keep it looking 'rough'.
♥ The Mini car tag was from a few years ago, I think I wrapped a present for my brother with the paper, and kept one of the tags that came in the wrapping set. It's one of those random things I kept that doesn't really have any sentimental meaning, I just liked it!

This ticket was from the first college freshers party I was going to go to, unfortunately I never went. During School & College I never knew I was suffering with anxiety. I assumed I was 'just shy', as I'd been told this my whole life, and I thought having these panic attacks over things like parties was normal. Obviously now I'm a lot more aware.
I'd made new college friends, I was trying to keep up with everyone else, I bought the ticket, and then realised that I was absolutely dreading going. I also don't drink, I never have done, and never plan to. Being a freshers party, it was expected that people would be drinking. In my panic ridden head alcohol = vomit, and that was something I did not want to be around!

♥ The Lorax sticker was from a banana I think! Haha, another random thing I kept!

I decided to add a little tab onto this page. I didn't have it poking out too much, but I wanted something to go in this gap at the side.

♥
The thing that looks like a film strip photo is a business card I picked up when we went on a photography trip to a gallery, in my first year of college (I think it was first year ... could have been second ... they both felt like one long year if I'm honest haha).

I decorated with the usual things, little teardrop gems, and fun stickers I had in my smash box!

I did upload a Smash Book Session video for this page, you can watch it below:

Smash Book Sunday! | 3 |

I created this Smash Book page a little while back now, and I have to say that I completely love how the colour scheme turned out! It sounds silly to say that I know, I obviously chose things with similar colours when looking through my Smash Box.
But when all of those things are lying on the desk, waiting to be put on the page, I can't tell if I'm going to be able to fit them all on, well enough that the colours mix well together. It turns out I was able to do that on this page!

♥ The owl image is actually the front cover of a Paperchase diary I got in my goody bag when I attended a blogger event last year. I started using it like a journal, but just couldn't mesh with it. So I kept the front cover to add in here, as a little memento from the event.
♥ The Craft Asylum thing, along the left hand side is from a pack of stamps.

One of the things I've started to do more often with my pages, is paper clip things down! A lot of the time I don't like having everything permanently stuck down on the page, I like things to move and for the pages to be hands on when looking back through it. So to prevent things that aren't completely stuck down, from hanging out of the book I have used paperclips to help keep them in place (they also add an extra bit of decoration to the page).

♥ The 'Life is Sweet' label is from a notebook I bought from Kikki-K.

When putting this page together I remember being pretty chuffed with the amount of perfectly matching washi tapes I had! I had plenty to choose from, it's really satisfying when things just flow like this, and you come across things that just work.

♥ These stamps were on a package I'd received from a penpal.
♥ The heart memo paper was also from a penpal, I only had one left, so decided to add it in here.
♥ Right in the background there is white tissue paper with lilac writing and images on. This is the tissue paper that comes with a Paperchase order.

Another thing I like to do in my Smash Books (after saying about how I prevent things from hanging out of the book haha), is have small things poking out! When it comes to things poking out of the book, I like to be in control. So if I feel like something would work well with the page and isn't going to get damaged, then I will go ahead with it and make it poke out. But anything that I think will fall outwards or overhang, completely unplanned, I will clip back with a paper clip!

The purple and blue foam flowers I've added to the page are from Wilko. The little silver teardrop gems are from Hobbycraft (I think, or it may have been The Range)

Smash Book Sunday! | 2 |

This Smash Book page was very busy. I had a lot of Easter things and tried to combine as many as possible into one page. Obviously there's a few non Easter things that had worked their way onto the page, but that's okay, because they just went well with everything.

♥ The Chick tissue paper covering the background, was from Tiger.
♥ The bees are meant to be used to decorate clothing or material (they are the iron on type of things), I got them in a swapbot swap.
♥ The little Bulbasaur at the top was from a swapbot swap.

When you open the first card on top inside I have collaged together some odd stickers and pieces I have received over the years.
The butterfly was on an envelope which I was sent from one of my Instagram giveaway winners, she sent me a little thank you card and other bits and pieces to Smash Book. I thought it was so lovely of her, I was really happy when I'd found a place to put this (I still have the rest in my smash box, waiting to be used!).

♥ All of the stickers on the left hand side of the card were sent to me from penpals!
♥ The Despicable Me 2 piece of card, was from a sticker pack.
♥ The card that all of these things are attached to was from an Easter themed swapbot swap.

I attached the card by punching two holes in the crease where it folds in half, and then tying some ribbon (which I also got in an Easter themed swapbot swap!) through the holes and through the spiral of the Smash Book. This is one of the simplest ways to attach cards to a Smash Book, it acts like another mini page in the book.

Behind the Easter card I attached with ribbon, there is this fun little pocket which is made out of part of a cardboard envelope I got from Noodoll. It had super cute illustrations on, so of course I had to keep it to Smash Book. I cut it down and stuck it so I could keep things inside it.
Inside I put another Easter card I'd received from a penpal, a postcard I'd got from another penpal from Niagara Falls, and also a little thank you card I'd gotten from another Instagram giveaway winner.
♥ The little 'Time to happy dance' note was from a penpal, which I stuck in this blank space with a couple of strips of colour co-ordinated washi underneath.
♥ The little 3D dot stickers came from the same giveaway winner who sent me the envelope with the butterfly on.

Above the pocket I just added some of the other bits and pieces I'd found in my smash box.

♥ Daisy heart which I cut out from an envelope, from one of my penpals.
♥ The little shirt stickers, I think either came from a swap or a penpal, I've had them a little while so can't exactly remember.
♥ The 'Live Bright' tag is from one of my Kikki-k planners!
♥ The little note from the Spring Scavenger Hunt swapbot swap.

I feel like this page truly shows just how much you can add to a Smash Book page. I love that there's things hiding, and little pockets and things to open, it's one of the things that I'll forget about and then in years to come I'll look back through my Smash Book and I'll re-find all these little hidden memories.

If you would like to see the process of how I put this page together, then I have done a time lapse video on this page, which I will leave below:

Smash Book Sunday! | 1 |

So this is a new blogpost I'm hoping to share on a weekly basis!
Seeing as I don't do the voiceovers on my Smash Book videos anymore (I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to it, I enjoy doing them a lot more this way), I have had a lot of people say that they miss hearing my thought process and also what everything is on the page.
SO I thought why not snap some photos and share them on here!
I will be sure to go back through my older Smash Book as well, and talk through some of those pages.

This Smash Book page I actually never filmed or shared on my YouTube channel. When I put it together, I didn't want to set up all my filming stuff, I just wanted to create. So I did! It's all slightly random, but hey! My Smash Book pages are rarely not random!

The stamps and section of an envelope are from one of my penpals. I could have peeled the stamps off and added them to the page, but it would have ruined the hand stamped, stamps.
It wasn't wide enough to fit on the whole width of the page, which is why I added the little 'Simply Grand!' (I think that was from a Smash tab set? Or from a penpal aha) tab in that corner.
There's then two tags from two toys my boyfriend bought me on the left hand side.
Also there's an empty stamp book there, which I added a couple of strips of washi tape to, and folded them over so they act like a little tab to open it.

Inside there's just a little sticker which came either from a penpal or an order I made, I can't quite remember as I got it so long ago now! I added from washi behind it to help with layering, and I also left the orange tissue paper hanging out below, so it can overlap onto the brown envelope. This helped to make the page 'flow' so everything on the page merges into one another and helps to make it look good as a whole.

This little brown envelope was a spare one, I think I'd used the notecard/card that came with it, and I just had it in my envelope box (yep I have one of those hahah #stationeryoverload), so I thought I'd use it so I could fit more on the page.
The pens sticker was from a pack of Target pens (the first ones I had ever owned) that my old penpal got me! It was a cute sticker and I wanted to keep it. Seeing as it was stuck onto brown card, gluing it straight onto a brown envelope would have been silly. So to help to stand out, I added a few strips of trusty washi tape behind it.
The little 'Thank you' die cut was from another penpal. I just thought it looked cute there, and seeing as the pen sticker, and what is in the envelope, were both from gifts it kinda wasn't completely random.
I added a little black flower brad to the envelope before sticking it down, this is so I could tuck the envelope opening in there so it would stay shut.

Inside the envelope I just put one of the butterfly tags I got on a present from a secret santa swap I did back in December. The person who sent me a present had these little tags on all the presents, I didn't keep them all but I wanted to keep at least one! So this was the perfect place to pop it, to keep it safe!

This 'Bits 'n' Bobs' label was from a penpal, they had sent me some fun little goodies, one of them being a cool bird paper clip ;) ! I loved the shape of the little label and didn't want to get rid of it, which is why it's ended up in my Smash Book! Seeing as I stuck it in here, there's no longer a cool bird paper clip where the arrow is pointing, so where the arrow points I put the word 'nope' using my label style alphabet stickers.
I put some little orange bunting below that just to fill in some empty space.

So that's how that page got put together! I hope you liked finding out a little more about this Smash Book page. I will hopefully be sharing one every Sunday (hence Smash Book Sundays!), so keep an eye out for those!

Have a lovely Sunday! - Daisy X
