Scrapbooking With Sticker Kitten!

If you've been watching my YouTube channel recently, then you might have seen my December Daily project I was doing over Christmas and during January! Today I thought I'd share a few pages I did in the project using the adorable Penguins and Presents collection from Sticker Kitten!

First of all, something super simple that doesn't have much skill or brain power involved in it, but I thought I'd share anyways, is my little shaker cover for the whole project! I used the beautiful Christmas Sequin mix! The journaling card was from a pack of journaling cards that I got specifically for this project. Then I just popped a load of sequins into the pocket and used my Fuse Tool to seal the top of the pocket.

I ended up using a stamp from another Sticker Kitten product, this was a washi tape style stamp with dots on. I decided to use it along with some actual washi tape to create a bit of layering behind the photo. Stamps like this are so versatile, especially if you don't have a washi tape that works. Also considering the photo I was documenting had pom poms in, I think the dots on the stamp complimented them nicely.

I used some of the beautiful 6x6 papers to pop in the background, again, as I was documenting a photo of the pom pom garland I made, this paper was a brilliant fit for the layout. I love the unique Christmas colour scheme in these papers, and the little penguin die cut's & stickers match so perfectly. I used a bigger penguin die cut on behind the top of the photo, and then I popped a smaller penguin sticker over the top of the photo on the bottom right to help balance things out a bit.

For this second I used two papers from the pack, both of them had a very simple design on. Instead of using some washi on this layout, I chose to rip a strip from one of the papers. If I can't find a washi tape that works with a page then strips of paper are my back up plan. There's almost always a piece of scrapbook paper to do the job, and if there's not then I can always paint or decorate my own.

I layered some candy cane die cut's behind the ripped strip of paper and then put some candy cane stickers on top of it, which created a sort of candy cane garden. This fit really well with the photo I was documenting of our gingerbread house.

I've absolutely loved using these Sticker Kitten products for this project. They are all so cute! The stickers are cut perfect, I've not had any issues with them when peeling them off the sheet. The die cut pieces are cut very close to the design so some of them weren't quite as perfect. But once they are stuck down on a layout, you really can't tell at all! Smash Book Sunday! | 7 |

For this Smash Book page, I ended up using a lot of packaging, and notes from when I bought stickers from various Etsy shops, to do a sticker haul on my YouTube Channel.

The main colours I based this page around are the little orange and pink squares on the pocket, at the bottom of the page. I searched through my Smash Box and found some other bits and pieces which went with those colours rather well and arranged them on the page!

Down at the bottom of the page is where I put most of the packaging for the shops.

At the top and inside the pocket is where I put a lot of other random things that I just found in my Smash Box. I was surprised at how many things I had that just went with this page really well!

♥ Various items in the pocket are notes I've received in orders, photos, postcards and other larger items I didn't want to use anywhere else, but still wanted to keep.

Smash Book Sunday! | 5 |

So before I get started with talking through this page, I just wanted to say that basically everything on this page is from Ankepanke! I wanted to keep the lovely packaging that came with the stamps she had sent.

Of course there's a few things that I added because they just worked well with the colour scheme etc. I can't recommend Anke's shop enough, she has some really sweet stamps and stickers available! Her prices are great too, so make sure you check her shop out!

When Anke sent me the stamps, she also included these two stickers. I wasn't sure where to put them at first as I know I wanted to keep them, but not just as unused stickers. So of course popping them in my Smash Book means that I get to keep them, and incorporate them into a Smash Book page!

The little cat drawing (I'm pretty sure it's hand drawn, but it looks so neat it could be printed!) saying 'for stability' was a definite keeper. I cut this little guy out to put in here, and actually kept the off cuts to use in my mail, for stability! ;)

I kept as much as I could from the packaging, it was all so so lovely! I couldn't not keep this address label, it's for sure one of the cutest ones I've ever received. The actual envelope that everything was packaged in was silver holographic?! So awesome. The Cat stamp is from her shop, and also the Washi stamps in the top left.

I decided to add the little envelope of postcards to the page. I didn't want to stick the postcards in directly, as if I wanted to use them in the future I wouldn't be able to. So I love having them in here, so I can use them when I want, but I don't have to rip up the page to do so!

Where I buy most of my journaling cards!

I first came across journaling cards when my penpals sent me some with their letters. I hadn't a clue what they were but they reminded me of my Pokemon card collecting days, and I had an urge to find more! That's when I first came across Project Life.

I originally thought that they were the only brand/company that made journaling cards, but I soon came across many different companies that sold them.

I found that a lot of the places that sold them in the UK were pretty expensive, in comparison to the countries where the companies were based, sold them for. So I decided to have a giant internet search to see if I could find anywhere which sold them, AND offered decent/free postage.

eBay is usually my first stop when trying to find things for cheaper, as there's a lot of sellers from Asia on there, and sometimes you can come across some real gems. I had no luck on eBay, so decided to search on Amazon.

I searched a few different brands, and then came across a seller who had reasonably priced journaling cards (and loads of other products from non UK brands, but that's a whoooolllleee other story!) from a brand called KaiserCraft, and the postage was FREE, score!

I'm always well aware that if the postage from somewhere outside of the UK is free, then it means it'll take years to arrive. Well not 'years', maybe only weeks, but it feels like years when you are super excited to receive them!

The shop I came across was supermart USA. Their prices go up and down, but I personally thought that their journaling card prices were all very reasonable!

KaiserCraft, is an Australian brand and I hadn't ever heard of them before.

The first pack I got was this one, it is the Say Cheese pack (They don't currently have it available on supermart USA, so I can't provide a link) and it contains a ton of colourful cards, which are all themed around photo taking. All of the cards in all of the packs I'm going to show you are double sided, and you get three of each double sided design! (In some of the packs I got four! Which was obviously a packing mistake haha, but I'm not complaining!).

The next pack I got was the Sea Breeze one, this one really has a beachy feel to it. There's so many wood patterns and teals being used, I love these combinations. It clearly means I need to take more trips to the beach, so I can use these ;)

I also think this would be a great pack to get if you are documenting a wedding!

This pack is Favourite Things, again it's another very colourful pack (you know me, I love my brights!), I'm always drawn to the brighter packs first and then realise that I need to go for some more dull ones to help compliment them. If not any pages I create with them will be super in your face and very lairy!

The last pack I got was the Celebrate Life! Pack. This one is very toned down compared to the others, it's got lots of quote cards, and would definitely be a great one to document the people you love in your life! I think I will keep these ones for when I go on little dates with my boyfriend.

Most of the KaiserCraft packs they sell on supermart USA range from £3.33 - £4 per pack, there's a few packs that are over the £4 mark.

They aren't the thickest quality of journaling cards about, but that really doesn't bother me. At the moment I mainly use them in my fauxdori's, so the thinner the better really! I do plan to start project life at some point, and I don't think the thickness would really bother me all that much, considering they'd be in plastic sleeves there'll be no worries of them getting damaged.

Even though they are thinner than other brands, this does not mean ink will show through to the other side. I have tried and tested this, I used x5 different pens, Coleto, a pen from China, Smash Book pen, calligraphy pen & a felt tip, and none of them showed through onto the back of the journaling card!

The two pens which you could see clearer when you held the card up to the light was the felt tip and calligraphy pen, both were a lot inkier than the other pens used, so that was slightly expected.

Overall, I'm slightly obsessed with the KaiserCraft brand, and the prices per pack I think are very reasonable. They do take a little while to arrive, but that's something you would have to take into account when ordering.

Their customers service has been very good, my mum bought from them and received some damaged cards (a few in the pack had been cut really wonky) so she sent them a message, and they got a replacement sent out to her, and she got to keep the faulty cards too. She obviously couldn't use them as journaling cards, but they could be cut up and used for other things.
